What We’ve Done We added over 400 square feet of new kitchen and open floor plan living space. Our kitchen space is updated in every way. We now have two refrigerators, a 36″ professional gas range, two ultra-quiet dishwashers, three large sinks with disposals, and a separate kitchen pantry area for your entertaining convenience. The rear portion of this wonderful historic home has been newly constructed and a large and modernized living space awaits. We also renovated an upstairs bath (with a large glass surround shower) and a powder room was added on the first floor for a total of 5 showers (3 inside and 2 outside), a bathtub, and 5 toilets. Our beautifully landscaped yard includes gardens, a new gas grill, two bike racks, two picnic tables, and lounge chairs. Our private backyard is big enough for a friendly game of touch football or a spirited frisbee toss….yes, we have the biggest lawn on the block (!) so make sure you bring the games! You simply will not forget your vacation at the Magnolia Porch! You can practically live on the enormous wrap-around covered porch which has 1260 square feet of eating, playing, and relaxing spaces for everyone in your group! Seven large bedrooms and 3 full and two half baths PLUS two outdoor showers with private changing rooms! Sleeps 16 very comfortably No squeezing into cramped ‘double beds’ or sleeping in the living room or sun porch in this spacious comfortable home. ‘Room for 16’ means that EVERY one in your party has their own comfortable bed, in a designated bedroom space, with a door that closes! Our beds are either King or Queen or standard-sized Singles. We don’t believe in overcrowding the home or making some folks sleep on uncomfortable sofa beds or roll-away cots while they’re on vacation. Imagine! After a day of playing on the world-famous white-sand beaches of Cape May, return to enjoy this home’s expansive living spaces. Enjoy rocking your cares away on one of our 10 big wooden rockers or sip a cocktail while enjoying the gentle breezes and listening to the waves on the beach which is only one short block away. Kick-off your flip-flops and swing on our vintage double porch swing or laze the day away on the extra-wide rope hammock. There are also three dining tables with chairs and two servers on this magnificent tree-lined porch as well as several other quiet spaces for sipping coffee while you enjoy the morning sun spilling through the magnolias. Take a stroll on Cape May’s scenic beachside promenade…..or take a run if you’re up to it. It’s only a block away. Park your car for the week and forget about it….in fact, park 3 additional cars in our private driveway.(Free street parking on our block too!) Everything you could want is only a short walk away. New Kitchen Our large sunny kitchen includes granite countertops throughout; a prep island with sink and three counter stools; our state-of-the-art appliances include a 36-inch Professional KitchenAid stainless convection gas range; 2 full-sized stainless steel refrigerators (both equipped with ice makers); two ultra-quiet Bosch dishwashers; and three stainless steel sinks — all with garbage disposals. Almost 50 cubic feet of refrigeration space is sure to hold all of the provisions for your group. You will want for nothing in this massive kitchen addition with adjoining den area and a separate pantry that is a second (!) kitchen. Virtual Tour of Magnolia Porch After a day of sightseeing or shopping, you’ll enjoy relaxing in this home’s expansive living spaces. Enter the large foyer through the welcoming Dutch door and enjoy this entertaining area which is fully equipped with bar glasses, ice bucket, and serving pieces. A large adjoining living room with big comfortable wrap-around sofas and a game table welcome you along with a fireplace original to the home. Lots of seating here in this beautiful room which is appointed with lots of books, many DVDs, and a 55-inch high definition Smart TV with an upgraded cable package, and wireless internet….all for your enjoyment. Beyond the living room is an expansive dining room with a granite-topped lighted buffet niche and seating for all at our 120″ table. Large double mahogany doors open onto the side porch from this wonderful room……cocktails anyone? Just beyond the dining room is our pantry area. This is essentially a second kitchen since it is equipped with a full-size refrigerator, a stainless sink with the garbage disposal, microwave, and even includes a second ultra-quiet Bosch dishwasher. This unique space includes floating wooden shelves which have been created from the recycled timbers of old homes right here in Cape May. Custom lighting makes this a special place for preparing morning coffee or for setting up a wine & cheese or appetizer station. This pantry’s large wooden sideboard can accommodate lots of platters for serving those special meals and for setting up a buffet since it is only steps away from our beautiful dining room and is easily accessible from the porch. Beyond the pantry is a den (perfect for TV viewing!) that can accommodate a separate gathering of sports fans or cartoon watchers. A new powder room has been added here for extra convenience. This beautiful sunny room includes another large 55 inch Smart TV and is the ideal place to begin your day connecting with family and friends and catching up on the news or checking your email. This lovely room is also equipped with a stereo receiver with Bluetooth capabilities so you can listen to the radio or your own music through our Bose speakers. A complimentary password-protected internet connection is accessible throughout our home and on the porch. All TVs are newer (Smart) and include an upgraded Comcast cable package with sports channels. Once you’re ready to retire, choose from among this home’s 7 large bedrooms; again, no squeezing into cots or uncomfortable sofa beds here! Three of our bedrooms are conveniently located on the first floor with access from a quiet hallway, away from the action. There are also two bathrooms down this hall…. only a few steps away from the bedrooms.
